Psychotherapy may help you learn how to take better care of yourself and make your life more satisfying by giving a window into your thoughts, feelings, and behavior. When individuals are trapped, they tend to lose perspective. Working one-on-one with a psychologist in individual therapy, alongside others in a therapy group, or in couples counseling might help you see things from a different perspective. New alternatives may become available, as well as the opportunity of making new decisions. As a certified clinical psychologist with over 25 years of experience, I recognize the significance of establishing resilience to change in order to effectively cope with big life upheavals (such as loss of a loved one, divorce, retirement, medical illness, birth of a child, new job). Without such resilience, life might feel overwhelming, one's self-esteem can suffer, and one's mood can plummet severely. As a psychologist, I accept each person's unique methods of adapting, and I work cooperatively to assist clients develop more gratifying ways of dealing with difficult life situations, as well as to understand and manage symptoms of anxiety and despair. Furthermore, our work assists clients in feeling more powerful in relationships, improving self-esteem, and dealing with family-of-origin issues, communication challenges, and self-defeating habits (including addictions).
